Well-attended Malmö-Copenhagen music tech drinks event!
On Thursday, February 20, around fifty musicians and music industry players gathered at Bishops arms/Savoy Hotel in Malmö together with independent developers/innovators from Denmark, England, the USA, Norway and India to name a few. The common theme was that small independent players come together and create small independent platforms for musicians and fans. Everything from AI services to, for example, SLEEVE.FM, a beta version platform for musicians and fans developed by Anna Lidell from Copenhagen! The common theme is also that there is a great deal of knowledge in our region and that new interesting collaborations and “cross-sectional” development will arise via the network.
What we can see is that right now there is an enormous drive and desire to both change the music industry to become a fairer industry with a greater distribution of funds to musicians/authors. But also that small players can create something together that is not run by the big tech companies and that is not ultimately created or should be adapted for the big companies but for the individual entrepreneurs/authors and their fans/audience.
